There were smiles everywhere, as more than 100 members of the Trinity Academy community came out to celebrate the ceremonial groundbreaking at the school’s future campus in North Portland’s Kenton neighborhood on Tuesday, June 9th.
Students, alumni, parents and families, faculty and staff, board members, financial supporters, and neighbors took part in this historic event. The event featured a brief ceremony with remarks from Trinity Board Chair Steve Hansen, Head of School Dr. Joannah Clark, and Executive Director John Kudelak. The celebration hit its apex when these school leaders were joined by lead architect Andrew Burke of Soderstrom and project manager Will Somme of Todd Construction, grabbing gold shovels for the turning of dirt (pictured above).
After the ceremony concluded, guests were invited to take a turn with a hard hat and gold shovel, fill a small commemorative jar with groundbreaking dirt as a keepsake, and to capture the moment with photos.
